You may have heard that Ignite attendees are eligible for free exams during the conference in Orlando, Florida.  Well, this is still true and there are still spots available for any role based certification!

Role based certifications can be found on Microsoft’s learning site here . If you are attending, we highly recommend sitting at least one exam, even if you don’t feel prepared. Just the experience alone will prepare you for how the exam is run and what you areas you may need to spend extra time on.

Below is a walk-through of the process.

On Microsoft’s site, filter to the role based exam you want to take. Here from the drop down, we chose Associate and want to explore the Azure Security Exam. Select Explore This Certification

This will dive deeper into the Azure Security Engineer Associate exam and it’s requirements. Below you will see only one exam is needed to obtain the certification. Click on Microsoft Azure Security Technologies

We are now taken to the exam scheduler for the AZ-500. Click Schedule exam

This will redirect you to Microsoft’s Learning site. Make sure to login and that your profile is up to date

After ensuring your details are up to date, click Save and Continue

You will be brought to the next step, Account Linking. This is only necessary for Microsoft employees. Select Continue to Pearson VUE

Next, you will be taken to the Pearson scheduling site. Select At a local test center

Choose your preferred Exam Language and click Next

Finally, the Exam Details. Disregard the cost and select Schedule this Exam

In the Test Center Search, type in the Zip Code: 32819. You will see Microsoft Event Test Center, check mark that and select Next

Now, choose the appropriate Day and Appointment time for your test

Now you can see at the bottom, the cost is 0.00. Proceed to Checkout

Microsoft will have you verify your information again. Your name must match your identification and you must agree to the NDA for the exam. The last step will be to Submit Order. Your exam is not scheduled until you complete this final step. Make sure your name and MSID are correct. Good luck on your exam!
